On-site and Off-site Industrial Relations Services
Brentwood provides two of our experienced Consultants for professional, practical guidance and representation to guide you through the complexities of the current labour scene.
While all our Consultants are available to service your needs as they change, we assign one Senior Industrial Relations Consultant per client. In that way your Consultant develops a relationship with you, our Client, and develops a unique understanding of your workplace, culture and particular set of circumstances. Our tailored, expert and professional advice offers employers a range of skill to compliment your business and address your risks and challenges.
Our approach allows us to become an integral part of the Industrial Relations management at our clients, immersing ourselves into the responsibilities and assuming them as our own.
The services cover the following functions, although the list is not exhaustive:
- Dismissals and technically complex disciplinary hearings.
- Appeal hearings.
- Guiding the processes of poor performance and medical incapacity.
- Assessing the HR/IR climate at the client and making recommendations with regard to the functioning of the department within legal limits.
- Management guidance and advice on all Employment Relations matters.
- Advice, guidance and interpretation of:
o The Labour Relations Act

Needs assessment
Brentwood will conduct an audit at your premises to assess areas of concern and outline a plan of action. The cost of the audit would be absorbed into your retainer fee.
The service provided by Brentwood is guided by your management team and your Human Resources Manager if you have one in place.
Brentwood assigns one Consultant to your contract, but you have the constant back-up of our entire team of Consultants at all times - each with their own specific expertise.
Arbitration, Con/Arb and other representations to the CCMA and Bargaining Councils
Where any matter is referred to the CCMA we conduct the arbitrations on your behalf through our affiliation with the South African Employer's Guild. This representation includes all preparation, communications, travel and representation at a single fixed rate.
