Employment Equity

The main impact of the Act is a huge work load involving time consuming investigation, administration, programme maintenance and consultation, a workload that most companies are not geared to handle.


Brentwood offers two options:

  1. The preferred Brentwood approach is to extend the Human Resources Consultant's time on client premises and then to handle Employment Equity on behalf of the client, including:-
    • investigation and analyses required by the Act.
    • preparing and submitting the requisite Employment Equity plans to the Department of Equal Opportunity.
    • consultation with employee representatives, shop-stewards and unions on the analysis and on the plan.
    • acting as the Company's contact point with the Labour Department and Department of Equal Opportunity.
    • monitoring employment equity mechanisms and keeping the plan up to date as required by the Act.

  2. A one-off service to prepare or update and submit the required plans.
